Regarding Risk Management:

When speaking to a colleague who owns a business, he mentions that he does what is necessary to attend conferences in Orlando, FL. After attending the conference, he will invite his family and children to join him and will use some of the business money to pay for Disney World-related expenses, such as lodging and food.

What do you think about this situation? Is it fraudulent? Does it matter that he owns the business?

This is definitely a fraud and a part of breaching the code of conduct.

This is a falsification of the expenses and otherwise termed as the expense fraud. Many employees have been fired for such an activity.

It would not matter if he is owning a business as the policies and rules are the same for all the employees.

An organization would maintain equality when it comes to employee management.

There have been many instances in several organization wherein employee have been enjoying using office expenses and claim a false receipt from the organization and the organization find it difficult to identify such falsification.

Whereas if found then leads to several implications.
