Although PowerPoint presentations have become a staple for me when it comes to presenting information to my peers and educators, I believe a timeline would be more appropriate for this project due to the nature of the project and the allotted time given for the presentation. A timeline would not only be very organized, but it is a great platform to highlight the key people and events that have made major contributions to nursing informatics and electronic health records. Throughout the presentation, the timeline will allow the presenter to share the information in a structured, chronological manner. The presenter can then include more information about each nursing event as they progress along the timeline. The presenter can even print out the timeline to allow his or her peers to follow along and take it with them after the presentation. Lastly, I think the timeline format can really highlight the evolution over the years for both the use of electronic health records and nursing informatics.
