Which of these is the current recommended symmetric cryptography algorithm?

A. RSA

B. Caesar

C. DES

D. None of these

Explain your choice please! Thank you

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer Option A

Reason: Option A is correct because RSA algorithm is used by most of the organisation to generate keys which can be used to identify a user uniquely. Since it uses simple mathematics which makes the cryptographic algorithm straightforward. Due the simplicity of the algorithm and the security it makes RSA the most widely used cryptographic algorithm right now.

Option B is incorrect because although Caesar is widely used it is not one of the recommended algorithm as in it the texts are shifted in a particular order and thus provides lesser security which can be intruded by any person

Option C is incorrect because DES algorithm is not used right now as it's 56 bit key is too short. Although double DES and triple DES are used right now but still it is not secure as an AES or RSA.

If you liked the solution then give a thumbs up ? it will be really appreciated ?

NWS620S Tutorial 1: Symmetric Encryption - DES Encryption is the translation of data into a secret code so that only authorised entities can read it. Encrypting data is considered a very effective way of achieving data security. To access encrypted data, you must have access to a secret key that enables you to decrypt it. Unencrypted data is called plain text; encrypted data is referred to as cipher text. There are two types of encryption: • Symmetric encryption • Asymmetric...
