Do you think we can know some facts about the world
without using our sense ? Why or why not.
Solution:
Unlike Descartes, Locke argued that the human mind doesn’t have innate, intuitive ideas but much rather humans are born with reasoning. Locke criticised the possibility of innate theoretical principles, that Descartes held as paramount, and instead held that humans are not born with basic principles of logic. In my perspective, Locke’s argument is more appealing than that of Descartes’. While we are born with certain types of instinctual knowledge, that enable us to survive, most of our knowledge comes as and when we interact with the environment.
