necessary reasons to apply a correction such as that based on the jukes cantor model when calculating distance values from multiple sequence alignments

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Jukes Cantor model

The Jukes-Cantor model is a Markov model of evolution that assumes. that the substitution of a base with any other base occurs with equal prob- ability. The mutation probability, or rate, is given by the factor a with. dimensions of mutations/generation.

Necessary reason to apply :

Distances writes a matrix of the pairwise evolutionary distances between aligned sequences. There are many methods for the calculation of these distances. Some of them are, Kimura's two-parameter method, the Tajima-Nei method, the Jin-Nei gamma distance method, and the Tamura method. One of the methot that can be used in any of the cases is the Jukes Cantor model. Since it is an unprovinced matrix, there is a chance of obtaining an uncorrected distance.

So in the above case, a correction should be applied for better calculation of the final matrix.

Using the Proceed-Precede Model, how would you apply it to the planning process of a POPULATION-BASED health program that does not include health counseling programs. Include a specific population and topic. So I have wrote this question many times and I think I need to be more clear- I need a specific population and topic related to community health in which there is a population-based health program included within. Basically I just need a population-based health program written up using...

Which of the following are reasons for having a primary key? All of the other answers are reasons for having a primary key. A primary key identifies each record in the table. Access responds faster to requests for specific records based on the primary key. A primary key prevents duplicate values from being entered in the same field. 1. Let’s apply the economic model of land allocation:Assume that a fixed amount of land can be used for (i) residential development, (ii)agriculture and (iii)wilderness. In the case of residential development, B+2D=10 gives the relationship between net benefit per acre, B and distance to the center of the town, D. The last two equations 8B + 5D = 40 and 10B + 3D = 30 give the same relationship in the case of agriculture and wilderness, respectively. To find the...

If the errors in the CLR model are not normally distributed, although the OLS estimator is no longer BLUE, it is still unbiased. In the CLR model, βOLS is biased if explanatory variables are endogenous. The value of R2 in a multiple regression cannot be high if all the estimates of the regression coefficients are shown to be insignificantly different from zero based on individual t tests. Use R to calculate a new variable (called z.days) based on the existing variable "days". This variable should represent the z-scores for each observation of "days". You should therefore have a whole new column in your data set that has 500 different values. When calculating the z-scores in R, be sure to use the z-score formula from Lesson L02, a mean value of 685.25, and a standard deviation of 419.95. Starting with a context diagram, draw as many nested DFDs as you consider necessary to represent all the details of the employee hiring system described in the following narrative. You must draw at least a context and a level-0 diagram, plus Level 1 and Level 2 where needed. If you discover while drawing these diagrams that the narrative is incomplete, make up reasonable explanations to complete the story. Supply these extra explanations along with the diagrams.
