2.) Evaluate DPSK with message signal 1011001 and also explain DPSK

Answer #1

Differential phase shifting key, here the phase of signal is sifted with relevance to the previous signal, here no reference is being considered. like if the data bit is low then it is not being reveresed and continue as it and if the data bit is high than it get reversed.DPSK nodulator is used to encode the two signal that are the carrier and modulator with 180 degree angle and with no reference phase signal and the transmitted can itslef be considered as the reference. DPSK demodulator is used to decode the signal.

Generate a Matlab Code for amplitude modulated signal by multiplying a message signal (a low frequency cosine signal) with a carrier signal (a high frequency cosine signal). Sketch the Fourier transform of the modulated signal. Demodulate the modulated signal (with no noise) by again multiplying it with the same carrier signal. The message m(t) = 5 cos(2?1000t) is frequency-modulated to 90MHz, with kf=2000?. Determine the frequency deviation and deviation ratio of the FM signal. Also estimate the bandwidth of the FM signal. Suppose now you are provided with a crystal oscillatorat 90MHz, an analog multiplier, and a second-order loop filter, and a VCO. Explain by drawing a block diagram how the FM signal can be demodulated using these components. Specify the minimum required operation range of the VCO.

2. Consider an unreliable communication channel that can successfully send a message with probability 1/2, or otherwise, the message is lost with probability 1/2. How many times do we need to transmit the message over this unreliable channel so that with probability 63/64 the message is received at least once? Explain your answer. Hint: treat this as a Bernoulli process with a probability of success 1/2. The question is equivalent to: how many times do you have to try until...
