Side channel effect or attack is a security attack performed after the data is obtained from a system. In these attacks, the algorithm or the cryptography is broken by using EMF radiation etc. and the encrypted information is easily viewed. This data is then used to attack a specific system. For example, attack on cache timing. This type of attack doesn't cause any damage to the cipher but performs an analysis on the cipher implementation effects. The observation or the analysis study is then used to damage a particular system.
