thoughts and feedback on this?
I have been wanting to try a tablet called reMarkable.
It is supposed to be the closest thing to actually writing on paper
there is. This might be one of the few areas of skeuomorphism that
I think I might enjoy. I enjoy physically writing things down, but
eventually I end up needing that information on my computer. This
is where I support the idea of making a tablet that responds to a
stylus realistically and looks similar to paper. The aspect of then
converting that into a .txt file is what really draws me in.
Personally, I enjoy no clutter and simple layouts and designs. This
might include less eccentric skeuomorphism items or actions, but
overall I do not prefer skeuomorphism. I find it easier to navigate
and operate through multiple iterations of the same basic app. Even
switching from different OS.
Growing up with Windows 95, I believe the enhancement of hardware
and software throughout the years led us all to be eager to the
possibilities of CGI. After being limited to relatively simple
design interfaces used less frequently than our cell phones today,
it was the only logical place to go. As time continues,
skeuomorphism, as any trend, is starting to circle back to where it
began, though enhanced. Interfaces can be incredibly clean and
organized while still making use of the growth of technology with
it.
You can try out the tablet as it is offering the close experience of writing on the paper and still saving the document as a text file and keeping it as a digital file, the less eccentric skeuomorphism items or actions helps in makign the app more attractive and appealing to the user. With the incredibly clean and organized data in the tablet , we can make use of growing technology and make use of the software for our advantage .ReMarkable is supposed to be the closest thing to writing on paper there so you can enjoy it physically writing things down on the tablet and saving it in a digital file.
