1)check whether the database indices are working efficiently or not so there will be decreasing of i/o operations
2)Please check timer interuppts in the linux redhat
3)Try to reduce the number of virtual cpus's in your machine ,because more vcpu's cause more scheduling
4)always try to reduce the vcpu's and increase the cpu utilization
5)And disable the cd rom ,usb drives, in your virtual machine,due to this overhead decreases and also reduces IRQ issues
6)use physical system which has multipe number of NIC's ,so that it reduces network contention
