The impact of cloud computing on the network must be considered before companies begin running significant applications in the cloud. Also the way data is sourced and stored, as well as how the application is distributed over the network, are important factors to be considered.
If the services provided by the cloud become as ubiquitous as predicted we could see the companies accessing their services remotely, at the expense of their own infrastructure and applications. Also the importance of the Local Area Network, Local area network devices and IT administrator could diminish as well.
The increasing in use of cloud computing will definitely mean a shift in ICT practices. Also Cloud allows flexibility as well as efficiency and the cloud can be employed for so many tasks But the the speed of the cloud will be limited and that might not be predicted.
Firstly, a cloud system is totally dependent on a stable internet connection and is still reliant on the LAN to operate.
Secondly, cloud computing and the internet itself hinges on the millions of switches, servers and firewalls that are located across the world. Therefore the organizations still rely on LANs and continue to demand high availability and fast response times.
