1) Protection of the data being stored with that of the provider.

2) The data is temporarily passing via the electronic communication service or being held up as the backup by that of the electronic communication service in electronic storage.

3) The means of electronic transmission

4) The storage for any specific communication with regards to electronic communication service and for backup protection for establishing a communication

Remote Computing Service: VPN

The difference between these are the electronic communication services helps in building a communication while there has different tools and technique to be used for security. While remote computing service would help in connectivity to the server or a different computer while security could be an issue.
