So i'll start by explaining what is lost call?

  1. Basically a lost call is a call that has not been completed for any reason other than cases where the call receiver (termination) is busy. (188).This is the tech definition of a lost call

This topic comes under fisher communication and hereby we'll try to explain both the definition in a paragraph.

The type of system which we are discussing  is when a blocked call is simply refused and it is lost then it is called as the loss system. However if we notice traditional analog telephone systems simply block calls from entering the system only and only if no line available. Discussing the Modern telephone networks which can statistically multiplex calls or even packetize for lower blocking at the cost of delay.probably In the case of data networks we will see that if the dedicated buffer and lines are not available, they block all the calls from entering the system.

Moving ahead and discussing the second type of system, a blocked call remains in the system and waits for a free line. This type of system is typically known as delay system.

These two types differs in network, way of obtaining solution for the problem and GOS. For loss system, the GOS is defined as the probability of blocking and For delay system, GOS is the probability of waiting.
