VLAN(Virtual Local Area Network) it is defined as the logical network which can connect devices in the same broadcast domain with the help of a switch. The VLAN is a subnetwork which is created in LAN which is Local Area Network.

In the LAN for an organisation in one office building, it has various department such as marketing, sales, production and so on. In LAN if one device sends a message it is broadcasted to all the devices of every department. In order to broadcast the message to the same department such as sales from which it was sent VLAN are created to separate devices of each department. Also, If a device from one department wants to connect to another department then the trunk is used.

Answer 2)

A VLAN is created with the help of a switch. A switch is used to connect the devices in the LAN with the helps of ports. In order to create a VLAN, we assign some ports to one VLAN and some other to another VLAN. In this way, ports are assigned to different VLAN. Then connecting that device to the port will be assigned to the corresponding VLAN.

Answer 3)
