Following are the major differences between Prototyping and incremental development:-

1. In incremental model the designing, implementation and testing is done of real products. Whereas

In prototype model the designing,implementation and testing is done of prototype (not the real product) .

2. In incremental model the total need or requirement is divided into several builds whereas In.Prototype model before a design or coding , a throwaway prototype is built so that to understand the requirements.

3.Prototype model is a software development model But Incremental model is a type of software development model like Agile model, V-model etc.
