In the case of inter-area routing, OSPF operates like a distance vector routing protocol. Explain why? (100 words)
Answer)
Inter-area operation is between the different areas while Intra
area operations mean the operations which are performed within that
area only. OSPF Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is the IP routing
protocol which uses the link-state routing (LSR) within the single
autonomous system. While for routing between autonomous systems it
behaves as a distance-vector routing protocol as it adds the Link
State SPF and calculates the routing cost to the cost which is
advertised by ASBR/ABR. Also, the link-state trees are maintained
within the area, the summary routes are used for statelessly
transporting the routing information between the different
areas.
