Answer #1

Risk assessment:

Risk assessment in simple words is nothing but identifying the hazards or risks at a workplace. Later on finding the solution to that risks.

If we cant get a solution for that hazards then the risk assessment will declare that the activity is not safe and it has to be stopped.

This process is called is "Risk assessment"

There are FIVE STEPS to risk assessment

They are

1)Identify the hazards

2)Analyze who will be harmed and how will be they harmed

3)Evaluate the risks and find the solution for them

4)Make a list of findings and Put them into place

5)Review the assessment and Make changes if necessary

1)IDENTIFY THE HAZARDS

We have to take a walk in the workplace and look at the things which may be expected to cause harm

we have to take the opinions of other people, what they think about that.

Talking to the employees at the workplace will be a good thing because they know the things better about their place

we have to keep in mind about both the long term hazards and also safety hazards

2)ANALYZE WHO WILL BE HARMED AND HOW WILL BE THEY HARMED

After making a list of all hazards we will have clear idea about the hazards at workplace

it makes a clear view for us to find who might be harmed which will help us to manage the risks

In an organization it will be difficult task for identifying every person with their names so its better to identify the people as a group based on their work

Taking the opinion of the others will help us to identify the things we forgot to list out.

we have identify how will be the person may be harmed that means

for example: the workers who are lifting weights may have a chance of getting back injury

3)EVALUATE THE RISKS AND FIND THE SOLUTION FOR THEM

Thereafter we should search for a solution for those hazards.

We have to think for a solution which will make the chances of the hazards very less

For that we have to compare the things with a good practise ones.

Advising the employees about the hazards and making them aware of them is a good thing

In this process we have to think about two things and think about the steps we have take for them. That will make a help for us. The two things are

i) Can I get rid of the hazard altogether?

ii) If not, how can I control the risks so that harm is unlikely?

4)MAKE A LIST OF FINDINGS AND PUT IT INTO PRACTISE

After finding all the necessary things we have put them into practise

It is good to make a writing about this and make to available for the workers

The writings must be clear, simple and easy to understandable

we have to include all the things we have done in the process in that writings

We have to implement all the necessary things which we have listed in our findings to avoid the hazards

5)REVIEW THE ASSESSMENT AND MAKE CHANGES IF NECESSARY

This is the final step of risk assessment

we have to monitor all the things we have done in the process and check whether there are any things we have

update the process if it necessary to be changed

Things will get updated after this process

Making a risk assessment survey once in annual period make things better and easier

THESE ARE FIVE STEPS TAKEN IN RISK ASSESSMENT.
