According to Wikipedia:

"Big Data is a broad term for data sets so large or complex that they are difficult to process using traditional data processing applications. Challenges include analysis, capture, curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, and information privacy."

As per my research,

It is a concept/idea for storing an large amount of real data information on a digital basis everyday.

It is refer to very large set of data that  no conventional database management or information management tool can really work. Everyday trillion of data is created.
