What are the two primary goals of concurrency?
`Hey,
Note: Brother if you have any queries related the answer please do comment. I would be very happy to resolve all your queries.
The primary goal of concurrency is to ensure the atomicity of the execution of transactions in a multi-user database environment. Concurrency controls mechanisms attempt to interleave (parallel) READ and WRITE operations of multiple transactions so that the interleaved execution yields results that are identical to the results of a serial schedule execution.
It helps to guarantee data integrity and consistency in a database system, concurrency control is one of the most critical activities performed by a DBMS. If concurrency control is not maintained, three serious problems may be caused by concurrent transaction execution: lost updates, uncommitted data, and inconsistent retrievals.
