What is the major difference between Zenmap and Nessus?
ZenMap is usually used as a host detector and a port discovery tool. Instead of the Nessus to check for the vulnerabilities against the known quality of hosts, Zenmap basically discovers the active IP hosts using the combination of the probes. Whereas, the Nessus takes the open ports into account and then notifies the user if the ports have any kind of potential security vulnerabilities attached to it. Nessus is installed on a server and is being run as a web-based application. Nessus makes use of plugins in order to determine whether the vulnerability is present on the specified machine or not.
