Method 1 :
1) Go to the Insert Tab
2) Click Table button
3) On the Insert Table dialog, use the grid pattern to choose rows and columns of the table
4) Use "Table Tools" option which comes on the ribbon to set design and layout for the table

1) Go to the Insert Tab
2) Go to Table
3) Go to Draw Table
4) Use the cursor to draw a box
5) Draw lines on the table
Pros of Method 1
1) Good if table size is known before hand
2) Good if need equal width and space rows / columns
Pros of Method 2
1) Good for unequally spaced rows and columns
2) More flexible
Cons of Method 1
1) Need to have an early estimate of rows and columns
2) May need to resize
Cons of Method 2
1) More time consuming
