Companies use Cloud for the following purposes:

• As a data storage platform: Many of the google application like Drive, Photos use the cloud platform GCP to store the data from your device into their cloud.

• Disaster recovery: This is yet another benefit derived from using cloud based on the cost effectiveness of a disaster recovery(DR) solution that provides for a faster recovery from a mesh of different physical locations at a much lower cost that the traditional DR site with fixed assets, rigid procedures and a much higher cost.

• No cost on infrastructure
• Minimum management and cost
• Ensures Reliability and Security
• Ensures Data availability
• Automatic software updates

Cons:

• Requires good speed internet with good bandwidth
• Cloud downtime leads to your application downtime
• Restricted or limited flexibility
• Limited control of infrastructure
