DHCP scope:DHCP scope is a valid range of IP addresses that can be assigned to client computers. It will assign IP address dynamically to a client. scopes should be defined and activated before DHCP client use the DHCP server for IP address

DHCP scope properties:

1.Network ID : For a range of IP addresses a network Id is there.

2.Network IP address range : The range of IP addresses available

3. Subnet mask for Network Id

4.Lease Duration: The total time that DHCP server holds a IP address for usage of client.

5.Router and scope name.

DHCP configuration:

1.open DHCP console and click applicable DHCP server in console tree and action menu.

2.click next in new scope wizard

3.configure scope name and description on scope name page

4.configure start IP and ending IP on IP address range page.

5.configure days,hours,months on lease duration page.

6.click finish after completing new scope wizard page.
