Describe what is meant by a domain requirement and explain why it could be challenging to recognize domain requirements by interviewing the stakeholders of an in-store supermarket shopping system?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Domain requirement is nothing but the needs which are being reflected in the environment in which the system operates on. It can be subjected to the application that is running on the environment. The domain requirement also involves the different kinds of stockholders, managers, end-users etc. The stakeholder is having indirect or direct influence to the domain requirement.

While interviewing the stakeholders, the requirement engineering team throw the question to the stakeholder regarding the system and also about the system that needs to be developed. The domain requirement must be expressed using the the special domain terminologies and thus makes it difficult for software engineer to understand the requirement. Sometimes, it is even possible that stakeholders wont give proper requirements and even find it difficult to explain and thus won't be considered in the requirements.
