Explain the application of spreadsheet in analysis of variance, interpolation and data processing.(computer science)

Answer #1

1.Analysis of variance:
This method is also called as anova,is a collection of some statical model is nothing but a set of assumptions which can be holds for generating some sample data and the data from large group of population.this is called the data generation process.

Example:

A salesman wants to increase the productivity of his products by increasing the speed at which his employees can be using a spreadsheet classes. As he does not haveing an efficent skills,he recruit an third party employee which provides training in this spreadsheet training.he provide 3 courses 1)a beginner2)intermediate3)advanced course.salesman is not sure about the course is needed for the type of work they do at his company, so he sends 10 employees on the simple course, 10 on the normal and 10 on the hard course.all the employees are return from the after completed the training program,he gives them a simple problem to solve by using the spreadsheet, and times how long it takes them to complete the given task. He then checks the all the 3 courses for observing if there are any differences in the average time it took to finish the task.

2.

interpolation:

The process of FINDING a value in a curve or a line between two points.it can mainly used in the statistics.

Example:

i will discuss an example that will clearly explains the depth of interpolation. A man planted a tomato plant and he wants to measured and kept track of its growth every other day. This man is a cunning person, and she would like to know how tall his plant was on the fourth day.

interpolation data table :

Her table of observations looked like this:

day height
1 0
3 4
5 8
7 12
9 16
depend upon the chart diagrams,it not to hard to find out that the plant was was grown 6 mm tall on the 4th day. This is because this tomato plant can be rise in a different pattern ie linear; there was a relationship between the day observed and the growth plant height.Linear pattern means the points developed a straight line. We could also assume by drawing the data on a graph.

3..data processing

a spreadsheet is a sheet that can be made of columns and rows that help organase the data easily, sort data and cal the numeric data. What makes a spreadsheet is designed by software codeis its capible to calculate values using different types mathematical formulas and the data in cells. A example a spreadsheet may be need is developed an overview of your bank's balance. examples of spreed sheets
1.google sheet
2.i work book
3.libreoffice
4.ms excel

TRUE OR FALSE: Statistics is the scientific application of mathematical principles to the collection, analysis, and presentation of numerical data. Statisticians apply their mathematical and statistical knowledge to the design of surveys and experiments; the collection, processing, and analysis of data; and the interpretation of the experiment and survey results. Opinion polls, statements of accuracy on scales and other measuring devises, and information about average earnings in an occupation are all usually the work of statisticians.

Cranberry Corp. has two divisions of equal size: a computer manufacturing division and a data processing division. Its CFO believes that stand-alone data processor companies typically have a WACC of 8%, while stand-alone computer manufacturers typically have a 12% WACC. He also believes that the data processing and manufacturing divisions have the same risk as their typical peers. Consequently, he estimates that the composite, or corporate, WACC is 10%. A consultant has suggested using an 8% hurdle rate for the...

An investment banking firm was considering two spreadsheet software for possible use in its large data analysis operations. A sample of 20 typical analysis problems were carried out using both software on the firm’s standard personal computer. The time in minutes needed to load the data, program the spreadsheet calculations, carry out the analysis, and print the results was recorded for each problem for each software. Computer response time is an important application of exponential distribution. Suppose that a study of a certain computer system reveals that the response time (X), in seconds, has an exponential distribution with a rate parameter θ. The study also showed that 90% of these computers respond within 5 seconds. a) Find the value of θ (round it to one decimal place) [4 points] b) What is the probability that a randomly selected computer will respond between 4 and 6 seconds?...
