DEF is a small consulting firm with ten on-site employees and 10 to 12 part-time (off-site) software consultants. Currently, the systems on their LAN network consists of 2 servers for internal business processes, 1 server that handles the remote VPN connections; 10 on-site wireless workstations/devices, and 2 printers.

Identify at least one network security strategy that would help this organization. Why did you choose this strategy over others?

One of the basic network security that will be very much helpful in this scenario is the firewall. Firewall is something that will help in blocking unwanted traffic from entering into the system. The firewall will definitely help in securing the infrastructure. So firewall implementation in both network as well as server level will be a added benefit to the infrastructure.

Here in this scenario, firewall is choosen over other security strategies because this is the most basic level of security which should be implemented. After that advanced level security is implemented. So, if you allow specific inbound traffic to enter into the network and deny other traffic then, it will definitely secure your Infrastructure more than other.
