Some say that the rapid growth of machine learning and automated systems are going to be a threat to the amount of available jobs for people. Do you think that this is a possible scenario?  Or do you think it will generate jobs in other yet unseen areas? Would you have interest in being a part of programming these next-gen automated systems?

Rapid growth of machine learning and automated systems have already replaced jobs and there is a threat for people that many more jobs are going to be replaced by these systems. For example, the telecalling services and the telemarketers or phone operators or receptionists associated with that services. There are many companies who have replace the human work with an automated system or say automated calls. As voice recognition and speech synthesis become more advanced, it gets easier for companies to implement these systems and harder for people to know if they're talking to a human. So, there is job loses for those workers who were associated with that work. Similarly, there are many other instances like with the advancements in AI systems like self-driving cars which triggered the job loses for bus drivers, taxi drivers and other transportation jobs. Though these systems are slowly but consistently replacing many human jobs, but there are some jobs which can't be replaced such as information gathering, researchers, reporters, pilots, etc. untill the development of any high end humanoids. But these automated systems and machine learning has also extended in the fields of education and people on these study or research fields already have a good scope of high paid jobs.

Well, I would like to be a part of generating such next-gen automated systems as far as it doesn't attempt to ruin the ecosystem of the planet we are living in. Humans have developed automated systems for ease of living and to some extent it can be considered as a boon. When these systems start to take over a human's daily activities, it could lead to many unwanted lifestyle changes and even unwanted circumstances. We should be utilising such systems efficiently and in a limit.
