Ecommerce and mcommerce (mobile)have different meanings, though both aim at making customers' lives easier. Simply put, ecommerce is an umbrella term for selling and buying online, while mobile commerce, or mcommerce, is a subcategory of ecommerce that focus on purchasing via mobile devices.

E-commerce stands for electronic commerce, wherein shopping is done over the internet. ... M-commerce implies the use of mobile devices, so people can do their business transactions anywhere they go as long as they can access the internet on their smartphones and can perform transactions with just a few taps on the screen.

Local Marketing

If a local customer base is the largest contributor to your business, being listed locally online is incredibly important. Statistics show that “70% of activity online is in one way or another ‘related to local content’”, which means that if your business is not listed on directories like Google Places, you are missing out on 70% of internet users.

Local marketing is also closely tied to mobile marketing because people often search for local businesses on their mobile devices.

from that mobile is needed for all type of marketing ,so it is more impressive.

Findings:

Mobile marketing:

● It is the best and easy for all because of the mobile in hand.

●     Mobile marketing is growing at an exponential rate. In the United States alone, while only 164 million people have PCs, over 293 million have mobile phones! This begs the question: how do we reach all these consumers?

● Since the term “mobile marketing” refers to marketing targeted at cell phones, smartphones and tablets, there are many different “mobile mediums” in which one can reach customers. Some of the main avenues used in mobile marketing include:

  • SMS & MMS Messaging: Contacting your customers through text messaging is a convenient way to promote your business and increase brand awareness.
    • Implementation: Text message software.

Local marketing:

● This tactic is important for your business if you are located in a metropolitan area, and you are looking to get more traffic to the physical location of your business. Also, submitting your business to Google Places takes about 10 minutes, so even if you don’t currently have the time or resources to get listed on all major local listing sites, this can be a good start.

■Most of the marketing advertisement are now in social media because of more users of social media. There are more than 250 million active users currently accessing Facebook through their mobile devices. People that use Facebook on their mobile devices are twice as active on Facebook than non-mobile users.” – Facebook Official Statistics.

So mobile marketing is more efficient.

■In today’s digital era, most of the people are turning towards online transactions due to the multiple benefits it offers. eCommerce allows one to purchase, sell and exchange goods and services through the internet. Whereas, mCommerce is the use of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets to purchase and sell goods and services for the same.

■Most merchants who sell on the internet do not differentiate between eCommerce and mCommerce. This is because for them, it is one and the same.
