Is the following example of classification, regression, or clustering problems? Why? An online business wants to build a model to predict future sales revenue of their customers. They collect information from existing customers: what browser they are using, what state they are from, and what products they have purchased in the past.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

This is an example for classification. The reason is a model is constructed from the existing information and this model is used for predicting the future sales revenue. The data like what browser they are using, what state they are from, and what products they have purchased in the past are discrete information which can be modelled by classification.

If the data was continous intervelled, then it would be prediction and if no model is created, then it is clustering.
