1.Yes, current directory changed. because initially it was ~ but after entering cd /etc the current directory is /etc see the blue text in the image below

2.We specified absolute pathname because when we have used cd /etc  

/ is in the starting which makes it absolute.

absolute path means which is not related to current directory

relative path means which is in the current directory.
