CIA stands for Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. CIA is a triad that provides a model for the security of the information.

This triad keeps the data of an organization secure by considering the policy and effort of the organization.

The three components are:

a) Confidentiality: This assures the safety of the datas by which it can be accessed or modified only by the users who are authorized for this.

Ex:- The message or datas are kept confidential by securing with the passwords or biometrics. Cryptography is also used in order to secure the data by which it is kept confidential and only the receiver or user can access it.

b) Integrity: The datas are saved or integrated in a proper manner so that it is easy for the user to access it when required. It also ensures that no other can modify or reorder the datas already saved.

Ex:- The hackers can go into the datas of the financial organization and alter it. It alters the data integrity that may be just for fun. This is ensued by the integrity of CIA triad.

c) Availability: By availability it ensures that the datas can be accessed by all who is authorised to do. It can be accessed at any time.

Ex:- The bank provides ATM service that is accessible everytime. The datas can also be accessed whenever we want.
