Which aspects of testing and documentation would a developer normally not be involved in? Explain your answer.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Developers usually get involved in unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests. They don't get involved in

  • component testing,
  • system testing, and
  • user acceptance testing.

This is because user testing is performed entirely by the user by using the product or application. However, the outcome is shared with them for further modifications.

They also write development documentation wherein the documents of the engineering process are created.

  • It includes coding documentation in which source code of the application or product is included.
  • Another part of development documentation is testing documentation in which test cases are created.

The aspects of documentation that they don't get involved in are software requirements' documentation, and design documentation.
