A simple answer to that would be Big data is a term for data sets that are so large or complex that traditional data processing application software is inadequate to deal with them. The potential of community to tackle information in advanced ways to construct helpful understanding or goods and services of important significance. Big data mentions to things one can do at a large scale that cannot be done at a smaller one, to draw out new information or create new forms of value, in ways that can influence markets and more.
Data became a raw material of business, a essential economic process, and then is used to construct new presence of economic value.
Big Data has also been defined by the four “V”s: Volume, Velocity, Variety, and Value. They are as follows:-
» Volume : It goes for converting large amount of low density data into high density data that has some value and can be used for economic progress.
» Velocity : It accounts for the velocity at which data is provided to the machines for the calculation of values that are important for us.
» Variety : It account for the different types of data that is passed for the calculation of insightful values. For eg. it could be writtrn text, audio files, video files etc.
Well big data differs from large scale data as big data is used to derive insights that could be used for purposes which large scale data doesn't provide.
