Wi-Fi is ubiquitous in our world. Whether at home, school, work, or the local coffee shop, you probably have a Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Fi standards are evolving rapidly. As soon as we start to see 802.11ac devices in our networks, along comes 802.11ax.

1. How do you think the new 802.11ax standard will change network communication, if at all?
2. What do you see as two major advantages 802.11ax will bring over earlier standards and why are those advantages important?

802.11ax will change network communication for the better by better utilizing the 2.5 GHz band and sending gigabytes of more data per second while also utilizing the the longer bandwidths as compared to 5 GHz. Network communication will become faster and more efficient.

The two major advantages offered by 802.11ax are:

• Multiuser capabilities which were interferred in 802.11ac will now be brought back allowing for about 2 times the efficiency.
• It will give higher performance than 802.11ac by about 25% and higher modulation too. The data rate difference will allow for faster and more seamless conversations over the network.
