The threat actors manipulate as they create a methbot which is also called as the robo-browser which takes all the information of the user like what all needs to be done to initiate the advertisement auction on the browser. Here these methbots asks the advertiser to send the pre-roll of the advertisement to them as needs to be shown on some authentic website but in reality when this advertisemnet is played on the website on the robo-browser, the advertiser pays the website as it showed the pre-roll on their website but in reality the money actually goes to the attackers who all are behind this methbot and through this method these attackers gain approximately upto $5 million a day from all these false advertisement sellings.
