First of all, let's understand the meaning of Intellectual Property.

Intellectual Property: It is a category of properties which include the intangible inventions and discovries of the human intellect and its related things.

There are many benefits associated with the protection of the Intellectual Properties. Such as:

  1. It benefits the economy.
  2. It promotes innovation.
  3. It helps companies to monetize their innovations and grow.
  4. It helps small and medium enterprises.
  5. It benefits consumers and society.

Now, let's analyse the given options:

All the given options are very close to each other and almost all look TRUE.

But when we see "Society benefits from intellectual property protection." statement closely, then we can prove it as a FALSE statement.

  • This world consists of many different kinds of countries having different social and economic status.
  • Since the developed countries have more resources and tools so it is seen many times that they develop something and use these Intelectual property rights to exploit the developing and underdeveloped countries.
  • For example, they develop some cure to a disease and then force countries with low status to purchase it for a premium despite knowing about the poor condition of the country.
  • So, we can't say it always help society. Sometimes it helps but not always.
