In class we said that each doubling of the atmospheric CO2 concentration will cause the mean global temperature to increase by 3.0 ºC. Climate models in fact predict each doubling of the atmospheric CO2 concentration will increase between 1.5ºC-4.5ºC, due largely to uncertainties about how clouds will respond. What is the range of mean temperature increase for each doubling of the atmospheric CO2 concentration? Express your answer as a temperature range in degrees Celsius.

The Climate model estimates the temperature range of 2-4.5 degree Celsius. The studies which have choosen the models according to favourable climatic conditions has temperature range of 2.2-4.8 degree celsius. Studies based on the Ocean heat changes and Global Temperature show a range of 1.2-3.8 degree celsius. Studies based on past happenings like ice age,etc the temperature range is 2-5.2 degree celsius. But in 1970 the Scientist have given the best range of temperature for doubling of carbon dioxide rate which is 1.5-4.5 degree celsius and it is still the best range.
