The ways in which you can reduce the contribution of the land
transport system to carbon emissions are:
- Avoiding unnecessary trips.
- Replacing small distance driving by cycling or walking.
- Using public transport or ride-sharing or carpooling. (As the
number of vehicles decreases, the carbon emission will
decrease.)
- If you travel alone, use motorcycles instead of cars.
Similarly, avoid using an unnecessarily big vehicle if the number
of passengers is small.
- Using fuel-efficient vehicles.
- Getting our engine tested regularly.
- Driving smoothly without jerks decreases fuel consumption,
which in turn effects carbon emission.
