wide as shown in the figure below. The coefficient of discharge is
0.7 for each orifice. The water standing in the intake structure is
4-ft above the top of the box culvert. The coefficient of discharge
of the culvert is 0.67. Assume Manning’s coefficient, n, is 0.013
and the slope is 0.05 for culvert which is 100 feet long.
i. Calculate the total flow entering the overflow structure.
ii. Size the culvert to handle the flow. Assume the water behind
the dam is constant.
