3) A square cross-section piece of metal is put under tensile stress. The initial cross-section widths are 0.4 in. by 0.4 inches and the initial sample length is 6 inches. Under load of 580 kips the sample stretches to be 6.30 inches long, and both dimension of the cross-section are reduced to 0.394 inches width. Make calculations to determine Poisson's Ratio.

4) A circular cross-section piece of metal is put under tensile stress. The initial cross-section diameter is 0.4 inches and the initial sample length is 8 inches. Under load of 435 kips the sample stretches to be 8.35 inches long. Make calculations to determine the Elastic Modulus of this metal?
