how much water we need for one block of cement
given :
grade of cement M5 (1 x 5 x 10)
volume of dry cement = 0.347 m*3
volume of one block = 980400mm*3

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Data from the given question are as follows:

Grade of concrete = M5 (1:5:10)

Amount of cement in this mix = 1/(1+5+10)

Volume of dry cement = 0.347 m3

Vol. of 1 block = 980400 mm3 = 0.0009804 m3

60 litre of water is required for 50 kg of cement or 1 bag of cement in case of M5 grade concrete (IS 456 Code)

For 1 cubic metre of cement we need to add dry volume of 0.347 cubic metre to account for the losses

Thus cement content = 1+0.347 = 1.347 m3

Cement per cubic metre

=1.347 x 1440 x (1/(1+5+10)) = 121.23 kg/m3

Cement per block:. = 0.0009804 x 121.23 = 0.1188 kg

(Where density of cement = 1440 kg per cum)

Water required for 50 kg cement = 60 L

Thus water required for 0.1188 kg cement = 0.14256 L = 142.56 millilitres

Answer : 142.6 ml

1)You are given a protein solution with a concentration of 0.15 mg/ml. We need 10 µg for an experiment. What volume of the protein solution do we need? My answer: Convert 0.15 mg/ml to μg/ μl and you will get 150 μg/ μl. C = M/V rearrange for Volume V= M/C , V= (10 μg)/(150 μg/ μl) = 0.06667 μg/ μl 2) Suppose we want to prepare a solution containing 100 µg of the protein at a concentration of 1...
