why is localization important in GNSS survey ?

why is localization important in GNSS survey ?

Answer #1

Localization is a complex mathematical process which is used to relate local grid coordinates to the GPS earth center, fixed ellipsoidal datum. It involves the calculation of the transformation parameters by firstly collecting points with coordinates in each system. Localization is used to determine a best fit projection to coordinates in an unknown coordinate system tied to an underlying geodetic coordinate system. Also the observation station unknown coordinates can also be determined.

why it is important to consider margin of error when looking at election poll results. For example, if I said that my survey suggests that the Democratic candidate was going to receive 45% of the vote and the Republican candidate would receive 42% of the vote with a margin of error of 3%, what could you conclude about the election? Again, why is it important to consider margin of error?
