Ans:- Wood is one of the most utilized material by humans. Generally, it's usage is based on tradition and past -experience. In the olden days, there are no construction materials like concrete, steel, steel plates, bricks, etc. So Wood is mostly utilized by humanity. For making all the houses wood is expensively consumed as pillars, Raincoats, Sidewalls, Doors, Beams etc. it can be designed in any kind of a shape. Therefore standing of wood or wood based material users has been 'low-tech'. Nowadays the most prevalent contemporary structural type in the individual housing is the timber-framed structures. 90% of houses as platform framing structures in the United States. When wood is compared to concrete and steel, Concrete have Good compressive strength but very weak in Tension, Steel have very good in tension as well compression but very expensive, When it comes to wood It is Strong in compression as well tension with low budget.

Advantages of wood:

1. Best usable material in olden day to nowadays.

2. It can be used as Pillers, roof, sidewalls, beams, design purpose (Aesthetic view)

3. We can change the material into the required shape.

4. Strong in both compression and tension.

5. Wood is a natural insulator due to air pockets in the cellular structures, Wood is 15 times better than masonry and concrete, 400 times better than steel, and 1775 better than aluminum.

6. It can reduce the cost of cooling and warming.

The disadvantage of wood:

1. It can damage due to continuous heating and cooling actions.

2. If uses as pillars, It is damaged due to fluctuations of GWT.

3. It is not Fire protection.

4. Different coatings required frequently used.
