What is the layout of the production process in a Publix sandwich counter (part of deli)? The sandwich stays in one place on the counter. Toppings and condiments are available in containers in front of the sandwich making counter. The cheese/meat is sometimes grabbed from a refrigerator below the counter, but often the worker (same as the one making the sandwich) walks over to the deli section, which is located a few feet away. There the worker slices the meat of the customer's choice and brings back to the sandwich counter. The meat is put on the sandwich, then toppings and condiments. The sandwich is then cut, wrapped, and bagged; all in the same place. Does this description fit a project, work-center, cellular, or an assembly line production process?

Answer #1

This description fits for an Assembly line production process.

In Assembly line production process many parts are assembled together in different processes to finally achieve a final product .It is a similar case here , many components such as toppings , condiments , cheese ,meat etc. are added in sequential order to finally make a complete sandwich .
