In general, it is possible to find correlations between DCP and SPT so the formulations for SPT can be indirectly used to determine engineering parameters from DCP measurements. Ans) According to test done by Geotechnico Studio Italiano on sandy-silty deposits , following relationship is obtained,

NDCP / NSPT = 0.50

According to Cestari ,

NSPT (60%) = C N DCP (60%),

where 60% is efficiency of both test instruments

C = 1.50 - 2.0 for gravel soil

C = 2.0 - 2.80 for sandy soil

C = 2.80 - 4.0 for argillaceous soil

According to side by side SPT and DCP test conducted by Pender MJ , following results were obtained,
