We have some meanings to estimate engineering parameters from SPT. However, we have not learned how to determine them from DCP tests. In general, it is possible to find correlations between DCP and SPT so the formulations for SPT can be indirectly used to determine engineering parameters from DCP measurements. Find correlations or charts to get engineering parameters from DCP . Include full reference.

Answer #1

Ans) According to test done by Geotechnico Studio Italiano on sandy-silty deposits , following relationship is obtained,

NDCP / NSPT = 0.50

According to Cestari ,

NSPT (60%) = C N DCP (60%),

where 60% is efficiency of both test instruments

C = 1.50 - 2.0 for gravel soil

C = 2.0 - 2.80 for sandy soil

C = 2.80 - 4.0 for argillaceous soil

According to side by side SPT and DCP test conducted by Pender MJ , following results were obtained,

We have learned that Torque is equal to a force that is perpendicular to a radius (displacement); however, I just cannot grasp one of the study questions we received: A hammer thrower accelerates the hammer (mass = 7.30 kg) from rest within four full turns (revolutions) and releases it at a speed of 30.0 m/s. Assuming a uniform rate of increase in angular velocity and a radius of 1.50 m, calculate the following answers. (a)the angular acceleration: 7.96 rad/s2 (b)...

WILL RATE YOU How do some bacteria even survive within our guts? We have learned so much about microbes and how they can form symbiotic relationships with a variety of organisms, but something that may be overlooked is their ability to survive in hostile environments. For example, the human gastrointestinal tract has a pH ranging from 6 in the small intestine all the way up to 7.4 in the terminal ileum. As we've learned, microbes are at their maximal efficiency...

Our nutrition and eating patterns are shaped by our perceptions of food; what we have learned to like and dislike, what we feel is healthful, and it is even formed by our family, cultural, and religious beliefs. For this discussion, list five foods/liquids you like and five foods/liquids you don't like and/or avoid. For each you like, describe why you like them. For example, you might say I like to eat chocolate chip cookies because they remind me of my...
