Can I find the reaction forces by only analyzing the slope without taking in consideration the defection y?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

For statically determinate beams and trusses you find the reactions by simply using equilibrium equations and

For statically indeterminate structural members the slope is considered as extra known redundant force to find out reactions. For example at fixed ends the slope is zero ,we use this to apply and calculate reactions.

In some cases deflection are considered for finding reactions, such as for propped cantilever the deflection at propped end is zero,we use this to find reactions.

So,you can find reactions using slope without considering deflection at some cases

How can I find the wavelength without knowing the V and having more than 1 resonance. For example for 800f (f: frequency) I had 4 resonances. 1: 6.3 cm 3: 27.3 cm 5: 48.6 cm and 7: 68.6 cm. My teacher gave me one formula 4L/n. But for my table of results they are only asking for one wavelength.

I only need the answer, not the work. Nancy is taking a course from Professor Goodheart who will count only her best test grade and from Professor Stern who will count only her worst test grade. In one of her classes, Nancy has scores of 20 on her first testand 70 on her second midterm. When the first test score is measured on the horizontal axis and her second test score on the vertical, her indifference curve has a slope...

I need to find the equations of the tangents to the ellipse 4x^2 + y^2 = 72 which pass through the point (4,4). Seeing that (4,4) is not on the ellipse, I need to find the equations of the tangents by denoting the unknown point by (h, k). I used implicit differentiation and found dy/dx = -4x/y and used that to denote the slope, letting m = -4h/k. Now, when I substitute m into point slope form I get a...

I am struggling to understand how to find what is the reagent used in a reaction. I have these 4 problems and I must figure out what "reagent used in reaction". My classmate described the reagent as the ractant that is entirly consumed when a reaction goes to completion. It determines how much of a product you can make.         Analyzing a Significant Request I Will Make: How I Can Apply Positive Phrasing Principles The technique of positive phrasing can help my career because leadership often involves asking others to do things. Below, I present a new request and justification (both positively phrased) where I will ask a real person to do something. This section assumes that I have correctly phrased both the request and the justification positively, and that the justification is intrinsic or intangible (rather than something...
