Suppose your design calculations for 1/2 mile of a sanitary sewer trunk line show that it must be 24" in diameter and must be laid at a 1% slope.  The pipe will tie into an existing manhole with an invert elevation of 1150 ft.   The ground elevation at this manhole is 1165 ft.   The design criteria state that the pipe must not be deeper than 15 feet (to the bottom of the pipe), and it must not have less than 4 ft. of cover over the top of the pipe.   If the ground slope is 0.5%, sketch the sanitary sewer profile (to scale, but vertical and horizontal scales can be different) for this 1/2 mile section of pipe
