Answer #1

-BRC is a prefabricated welded steel wire mesh or reinforcement wire mesh. The first company which manufactured such Reinforcement wire mesh was British Reinforcement Company Ltd. So initials of the name of the company are used to such products.

-BRC mesh is made up of series of parallel longitudinal wires with accurate spacing welded to cross wires at the specific spacing. Companies produce the mesh with precise dimension control. It reduces the rebar tying process so this way product results in considerable savings time, money and labour.

-It is used in RC slabs, Walkways, Driveways, RC Pavements. It absorbs tensile, shear & compressive stresses.

-BRC is made up of low carbon steel. It comes with wire diameter ranging from A6 to A10.

You are working on a mix design and have been asked by the engineer to recommend the maximum size aggregate that can be used in the mix. The concrete is for a continuously reinforced concrete slab. The slab is 10 inches thick and will be reinforced with No. 6 bars (3/4-inch diameter) at 6 inch on-center (so a 5 1⁄4 inch space between the bars). The bars will be placed just above mid-depth of the slab so they have 4...
