Cast in place concrete structure is same as poured concrete structure. This is the most used method in concrete construction.
Whereas precast concrete structures are different as the walls, slabs etc.,a elsewhere and placed in position.
In cast in place concrete frame we use formwork to erect the columns, beams, slabs of specified dimensions. Then the steel reinforcement is placed as per the design specifications. Finally the liquid concrete is poured in the spaces. Thus it is cast in place.
The concrete is cured by applying water to avoid chemical reactions and providing enough water for heat of hydration.
Concrete is typically mixed in the site or transported from other place by means of ready mix concrete transit truck. Then the concrete mix is conveyed to the exact location by the help of chute/conveyor/ pulleys.
the image shows a typical cast in situ concrete frame. After the frame is constructed we can build the walls using different materials available of our choice.
This method varies from precast buildings as complete floor is built at a time including walls( all are precasted elsewhere, transported and placed in site unlike cast insitu frames).
