A construction estimate is used to determine the funds needed and then it is compared with the tenders issued.

Three major uses are

I) To work out the actual cost of per unit items , hence to work out the economical uses of materials and processes in the particular construction activity.

2) To work out the cost of extra items not provided in the contract agreement, but they need to be done as per

he directions of clients and include the required modification cost.

3) to revise the schedule of rates due to increase in t h cost of material, labour etc or due to change in technique.
