An area was measured on a plan by a ruler as 180 mm and 160 mm. Calculate the ground area in m2 , if the scale is 1:250.

The area of plan (by a ruler)= 180x160 = 28800

The scale is given in question = 1:250

Therefore,

Area on ground (in )=

= 1800 [Ans]

Note- In area conversion, we square the scale or R.F , and also we need to multiply the conversion of unit.
